South Current Systems was born at the intersection of two worlds: hands-on animal work and modern digital systems. After years of working in agriculture, managing livestock, supporting community farm projects, and building operational tools for small businesses, we saw a clear gap, the animal industry needed better systems, built by someone who actually understands the realities of barns, clinics, and field-based work.

Meet the Founder
James — Systems Architect & Animal Industry Specialist
“I build digital systems for the animal world because I live in it.”
James blends real-world agricultural experience with expert-level system design , a rare combination built through more than a decade spent working directly inside the animal industry before moving into SaaS architecture.
He began his career in hands-on animal care, progressing from kennel technician to lead tech, then to veterinary technician, and eventually into managing dog training facilities and clinic operations. Those years gave him a deep understanding of the workflows, bottlenecks, emergencies, and day-to-day realities that animal-based businesses face.
James later joined Zoho in Austin, Texas as a Solutions Engineer, where he designed platform workflows, built internal tools, and authored official documentation still used by thousands of businesses today. His time at Zoho provided an insider-level understanding of the platform’s architecture and best practices, knowledge that makes his systems cleaner, faster, and more stable than traditional “consultant-grade” builds.
After leaving Zoho, James relocated to the Conroe/Montgomery area and continued consulting independently, building custom hardware setups, full-service management systems, automations, and staff training programs for small businesses.
Today, alongside running a working farm in Montgomery, Texas, James applies his unique combination of field experience and enterprise-level tech expertise to build dependable digital systems for barns, clinics, breeders, trainers, and agricultural operations. His work is shaped by lived experience and engineered with platform-level precision.
